in the pursuit of walking, blossoming, and feeling loved together…


hey, on the roof of a building

where her hair blew with the wind

and his hands played with her,

a deep, drowning silence bound their beats.


breathe.


she

stayed

amidst his arms.


the sky took hold

of their silence until

the chirrupings and meows

halt and greet,


“your glow has extinguished the blaze of the sun.”



patience comes easily to those

who have seen 80 birthdays.

life is a mystery

unsolved, but


when solved, the spark

is caught,

she ever hoped to


fan into flame.



a bit messy,

complicated,

unique as a snowflake,


their lives entangled

with a twist.


to see darkness is easy,

to find the light is not;

faith never fades like


hope.



they healed those parts

which felt broken for longer

than one cares to admit.


seeping into every cell,

the silence was scared

to step out ahead of the shadows

in the light.


they were the entire universe

in the moments of

silliness


and


silence.



out broken

the silence was

gentle compassion,


needed to soften themselves

against the sharp edge of the world.


they never lost

the obstinate sense

of detachment,


the need for solitude,


a feeling grown over the years.



the shackled outward existence

clipped

wings of his soul;


her love and concern were

irrepressible.



the liberation from oneself.


their destinies are

bound by the ties of

devotion.


he exclaimed,

“you take care of yourself for me,

i’ll take care of myself for you.”


she replied,

“you and i are preparing to take a journey

within the airs of heaven,


a journey may be short or long -


it has begun,

we have found ourselves!”


silence.


… they lived happily ever after!
