in the pursuit of walking, blossoming, and feeling loved together…
hey, on the roof of a building
where her hair blew with the wind
and his hands played with her,
a deep, drowning silence bound their beats.
breathe.
she
stayed
amidst his arms.
the sky took hold
of their silence until
the chirrupings and meows
halt and greet,
“your glow has extinguished the blaze of the sun.”
patience comes easily to those
who have seen 80 birthdays.
life is a mystery
unsolved, but
when solved, the spark
is caught,
she ever hoped to
fan into flame.
a bit messy,
complicated,
unique as a snowflake,
their lives entangled
with a twist.

faith never fades like
hope.
they healed those parts
which felt broken for longer
than one cares to admit.
seeping into every cell,
the silence was scared
to step out ahead of the shadows
in the light.
they were the entire universe
in the moments of
silliness
and
silence.
out broken
the silence was
gentle compassion,
needed to soften themselves
against the sharp edge of the world.

the obstinate sense
of detachment,
the need for solitude,
a feeling grown over the years.
the shackled outward existence
clipped
wings of his soul;
her love and concern were
irrepressible.
the liberation from oneself.
their destinies are
bound by the ties of
devotion.
he exclaimed,
“you take care of yourself for me,
i’ll take care of myself for you.”
she replied,
“you and i are preparing to take a journey
within the airs of heaven,
a journey may be short or long -
it has begun,
we have found ourselves!”
silence.
… they lived happily ever after!
