I'm fruit that has fallen off a tree and onto the damp muddy grass
I feel bruised and squashed and too ripe for anyone to want to eat me
Days go by and they just walk past, picking the fruit that still hangs onto the tree
I’m left on the ground for the animals, but at least someone will enjoy me
