Victorian Vellichor - By Seerat Sohal

Fractured beams of shimmering starlight

kisses the ancient windows –

a faded stained glass –

leaving behind imprints of velvet-soft, blood-red lips.

A silent siren’s song croons a spell –its ornamented fingers

offering an invitation of royal purple and onyx black.

An arcane and mystical ritual,

Chaos and Magic bubbling from the tips of the crackling fire’s mane.

Footsteps staining the dusky sand as

storms of mythical, foreign tongues embrace the charcoal sky.

A tempest dripping in luxurious threads –

forsaken masquerades masked in lace –

waltzing away from aches and pains.

Wilted roses born anew.

A glittering vault of glistening gemstones flaunting hungry leers.

And in the entrance of the dilapidated house –

yesterday a glorious haven, tomorrow a victorious relic of time –

stands spectral embraces and unspoken declarations of love.
