Best Friend - By Oliwia Lidwin

I miss you,

There is no doubt about it

It’s been five years

But I still think about it

About the times we were,

Laughing and smiling,

For what it would infer,

Our greatest beguiling.

I was at a mirror,

You stood there,

And I could see you clearer,

Then I was aware.

For you left one day,

And there was no reflection

And I had to stay,

Looking in that direction.

But the space was empty,

The grief was not,

Full of petty,

That you had brought.

We tried to talk,

But you forgot,

What a shock,

Were our memories naught?

I went on smiling,

But not with you,

I was resigning,

And we are now taboo.
